EDC2012 focus also on PPP - August 2012 newsletter

With confirmation of Mr. Rudolph Scharping as plenary speaker the focus of the second day of the EDC2012 is now strongly on Public Private Partnership and other forms of private financing. Both the plenary speech and the debate session on private financing are covering this topic.

Speakers
We are glad to announce that Mr. Rudolph Scharping, a.o. CEO of RSBK and former German Minister of Defence will speak plenary about economic aspects and alternative financing of defence technology and capability development.

Also Finmeccanica recently confirmed they will present their views on SMART defence and Pooling & Sharing in a plenary speech.


Mr. Martin Hill, Vice President of Thales for NATO and EDA and
Vice Chairman of the NATO Industrial Advisory Group NIAG
will speak plenary about "Challenges of Smart Defence and P&S to industry and industry policy"


Furthermore Czech Republic specialist Dr. Libor Palíšek will speak about future threats of High Power Microwave and Directed Energy Weapons. He will present NATO cooperative research results in this area coordinated by the Systems Concepts and Integration (SCI) panel of the NATO Science and Technology Organisation (STO, former RTO).
